Diet Morbidly Obese

There is no treatment cure for severe clinical or morbid obesity. Despite the fact that obesity is a disease of excessive body fat - typically caused by eating too much food and getting too little exercise. According to medical estimates, patients who are morbidly obese who do not receive treatment have only a 1 in 7 chance of reaching their normal life span.

A score of 30+ on the BMI indicates mild obesity. Types of severe clinical obesity include morbid obesity (BMI 40+) and malignant or super obesity (BMI 50+). Morbidly obese African American men of similar age and body mass index can lose up to 20 years of life. Abdominal obesity, characterized by a fat belly.
Mildly obese patients can benefit from diet and exercise treatments, sometimes provided in conjunction with weight loss medication.
